As the season of Lent approaches, St Anne’s Church, Shandon, invites you to journey with us in reflection, prayer, and worship. This sacred time of preparation and renewal leads us towards Easter, offering moments for spiritual growth and contemplation. We welcome all to join in our services as we mark this solemn yet hopeful season together.
Our Lenten observances begin on Ash Wednesday, 5th March 2025, with a service of Holy Communion and the Distribution of Ashes at 7:30pm. This marks the start of Lent, a time for reflection, repentance, and renewal.
Throughout the season, our Sunday services provide opportunities for worship and reflection:
- 1st Sunday in Lent (9th March) – Holy Communion at 10:15am
- 2nd Sunday in Lent (16th March) – Morning Prayer at 10:15am
- 3rd Sunday in Lent (23rd March) – Holy Communion at 10:15am
- 4th Sunday in Lent: Mothering Sunday (30th March) – Morning Prayer at 10:15am
- 5th Sunday in Lent (6th April) – Holy Communion at 10:15am
Additionally, Rev. Meghan and St. Anne’s will join with Rev. William Olhausen and Douglas Union for a 5-week seriesduring the season of Lent entitled “The Story of Scripture”. Beginning Wednesday 12th March at 7:30pm in Canon Packham Hall (Douglas - Map Link), we will come together once a week to explore the grand narrative of the Bible and our place in the story of scripture. There will be a time of hospitality and light refreshments to begin. Each session will conclude at 9pm.
